Flyboard Champion Gemma Weston at Limerick’s Riverfest
It has been an amazing ride for 2015 Ladies Flyboard Champion Gemma Weston. Talk about bursting onto the scene, Gemma wins the very first pro flyboarding competition she enters and then finds her video footage from the event pulling over 10 million views. Recently Weston brought her hydroflight skills to Ireland for the first time and wowed crowds in Limerick City during the annual Riverfest Festival. Weston flew on the river Shannon, the longest River in the the country, thrilling the huge crowds (Even had time for a nice selfie). Riverfest incorporates local food, an international BBQ festival and rad sports like Hydroflight into one epic event that drew more than 50,000+ visitors.
Gemma was joined by world renowned Irish wakeboarder David O’Caoimh & 3 x British Champion Freestyle jet skiers, Davey Herridge, Chris Ames and Graig Halloway. Weston also performed an amazing night show in an LED Ironman/woman suit as fireworks blasted out from the 800 year old castle behind her. The people of Limerick along with local and national press could not get enough of the Ladies Flyboard World Champion. Weston was featured in all of the Irish newspapers and made headlines around the country including on the main news channel. H2RO gets so stoked when we share this kind of news and so we want to thank the driving force behind Gemma’s appearance in Ireland Ken O’Connell for all his efforts. Certainly he had great support from Gemma and her Powerfly Products team, Gavin Tier, The National Kart Centre, the Market Quarter, and the city of Limerick. We’re sure all involved couldn’t be happier with the experience and the energy it has generated for the festival and city.
