As we prepared for the X Dubai Flyboard World Cup one of the things that was exciting for us at H2RO was to see the emergence of new companies passionate about the Flyboard and Hoverboard and who are dedicated, like we are, to growing and promoting our sports. Our friends at HydroSports Network stepped up and delivered a great live stream from the World Cup and Zapata Racing began working with a company called Flycaptain on new technology which will help both recreational and professional Hydroflight athletes understand their flying in a more in depth way.
The Flycaptain iPhone application is able to measure the G-Force, acceleration, speed, altitude and GPS coordinates of a persons flight. It can also take photos and videos, from a Flyboard or Hoverboard run. The application linked to a Flycaptain account allows you to compare your run with the world’s best riders, analyze your tricks, understand and correct rider mistakes, and will be a new, smart and fun way to learn, share and improve your Flyboard or Hoverboard skills. The Flycaptain iPhone app was tested at the X Dubai Flyboard World Cup by Franky Zapata, Damone Rippy, Stephanie Wells, Cooper Riggs and Stéphane Prayas and recorded some amazing runs. This data will soon be made available online and is just one part of a larger project that will continue to unfold in 2015.
Flycaptain is also bringing Flyboard and Hoverboard enthusiasts together with an online forum so they can continue to share their experiences, learn from each other and provide valuable feedback.
If you’re interested in signing up you can do so here http://forum.flycaptain.com/
H2RO will continue to support these new projects and hopes that you will too. It’s going to be an exciting year for Hydroflight sports and we are sure to see more new technology come onto the market that will improve your flying experience.
– Remember, don’t let the January blues get you down, keep looking in on our X Dubai Flyboard World Cup event page for new interviews, videos and photos as we continue to break down all the action from the event. We just shared an interview with Damone Rippy (2nd Place) and below have released the most controversial semi-final run which saw Damone Rippy edge out fellow Team Aquafly member Jake Orel. Do you agree with the judges?
FlyCaptain Team is on their Winter Escape which began in Cancun as they tune up their App for release. Have a look at their first video from this trip. Also below you’ll see more of the great press coverage our sports continue to receive in Mexico thanks to the constant work of Flyboard Mexico and the FlyGirls.
