Flyboard Libya 2014 Tour
Tripoli – Al Khoms – Misurata – Zwara – Shahhat
Flyboard Libya goes on tour for the second year and this time the Hoverboard is in the passenger seat.
H2RO Magazine has been thinking of our friends in Libya and wishing for a swift and peaceful resolution. We are very proud to see how Flyboard Libya is spreading positive energy around their country by sharing their passion for Flyboarding and Hoverboarding.
We spoke with Usama Raba about his upcoming Flyboard and Hoverboard Tour and why it’s so important to share his passion with the fans during these difficult times.
H2RO) Usama please tell us about your Flyboard Libya tour and how was it born?
In 2013 Flyboard Libya went on tour to cities on the coastal shores of Tripoli. It’s an Idea that I had when I noticed that youth from outside the capital were coming to Tripoli just to try the Flyboard out. We had people coming from cities as far as 300 km away. Also a lot were commenting on Facebook and most where asking us to visit them. So I came up with this idea to go and take along all my equipment and spend a couple of days in each city to meet up with these great fans and let them try the Flyboard. Of course we are promoting the sport and since we are doing this for our fans and to repay them for their hospitality Flyboard Libya charges a smaller fee.
H2RO) Which cities will you go to?
Coastal cities! We will start with
1- Alkhoms: distance: 100 km
4- SHahhat (if safe)
Well, for this we are lucky to have fans all over Libya! And particularly the coastal cities we have passionate people who are in contact with us and take care of us when we arrive. They tell us about these ultimate locations and we come in with our full gear and do the set up!
H2RO) Tell us about a day on tour and the activities?
First day we arrive we set up our Flyboard Libya caravan and our tents! Then we do a show with the Flyboard and Hoverboard. Then we go for TV interviews and a big lunch and barbeque. After that we start registering all the fans for future benefits such as free flying. The next day will consist of flying times to all who want to fly. Later that day we party and wrap up.
H2RO) What are some of the benefits you’re seeing from such a tour?
I strongly believe in the sport and that all who get to know about it get that surge of energy that life still can be fun and that this awesome thing which allows you to fly is worth a try. Also, it’s a positive hammer hit. People in Libya need so much positivity since it’s been almost 3 years of war and not much is happening and the environment needs new things that promote hope and a future. Flyboard and Hoverboard do that! They give you a feeling that anything can be done. This amazing invention changed my world and I believe it can change anyone’s world.
H2RO) I know this is a complex question right now but will Libya participate in the X Dubai Flyboard World Cup!
It’s quite complicated when it comes to visas for Libyans in these times.. There are political issues between Libya and the Emirates but if we do get the visa we will for sure participate and take our flag with us to meet up with the amazing Flyboard Family. I miss them very much.
Thank you Usama for sharing your upcoming tour with us and for using sport to bring hope and positivity to your country. We really hope to see you in Dubai.
