Flyboard World Championship 2013 – How to Participate

For the second consecutive year, Zapata Racing invites 60 of the best Flyboarders in the world to compete in a freestyle competition at the Flyboard World Championship to be held on 7, 8, 9 of November, 2013 in Doha (Qatar). The competition will have a similar format as the first World Cup and with competitors, both new and returning, having improved their flying over the last year, the competition promises to be a spectacular one.
How to Participate:
1 – Submit your best video by September 30th, 2013 for consideration
Candidates wishing to participate in the Championship must send a video (2 minutes) before September 30, 2013. Only one video will be evaluated.

2 – Publication of selected candidates on or around October 1st, 2013
3 – Debut of Registration: October 2, 2013
Selected candidates will proceed to register by filling out the registration form which will be made available online.
You will need to provide:
- airfare
- passport
Registration will be confirmed by email to once Zapata has received these documents.
(FM not sure how that applies to airfare but I’ll update this page as I get more info.)
Registration includes:
3 nights in a 4 star hotel for 2 people *
Transportation from hotel to event site
Jet Ski and Flyboard Equipment for use during competition
4 – Registration will be closed on October 31, 2013

About the Freestyle Competition
The competition is held at sea, on a sheltered body of calm water.
Entries will be judged by a panel of five professionals who will allocate cumulative points on each stage from the 1/16 finals that will define the final ranking. Each rider will be judged independently on the following criteria:
– Variety of figures (risk taking, technical difficulty and innovation)
– Technical performance figures
– Attitude of the competitor (position, facial expression)
– Energy of the competitor (number of figures, speed and pace of implementation)
– Aesthetic figures
