Jumping on Facebook is incredibly different now than it was even six months ago. The world of Hydroflight sports continues to grow and the wealth of cool content continues to accelerate. I love it! Not only are we seeing how the general public are enjoying these experiences, because remember the Pros take these rides to the extreme but you and I can have just as much fun ‘cruisin’, I am also amazed and inspired by the constant innovation going on within the industry.
Here are some of the more recent cool things going on in the world of H2RO.
The first ‘intentionally’ tandem hydroflight device that we have seen has been launched by Jetavation Inc. Their Tandem Jetovator seems to be a fun ride and training tool all in one. The more we see of it the more we like the idea of sharing a flight with a friend. How many more seats can we get on this thing… three… four? Always fun to keep our eyes on Jetavation Inc and the new experiences they bring to life.

Team Aquafly, the undisputed top Pro Flyboarding Team in the world has just expanded with the unveiling of their Aquafly Angels. The first hydroflight athlete signed to this ladies competition and show team is Valentina “Little Valentine” Cambron (H2RO Ladies World Ranked #4).
She joins a team made up of Damone Rippy, Jake Orel and Hunter Verlander, three of the top four H2RO Hydroflight World Ranked Pro Flyboarders. Coming off a strong 4th place finish at the 2015 North American Flyboard Championship and now training consistently in Austin Texas with Chris Vance, Valentine is sure to be a force at the upcoming X Dubai Flyboard World Cup.
Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Valentine moved to Cancun, Mexico out of College. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French. When she is not in Austin training with the team, she spends quiet time at home with her son Francisco and boyfriend Manuel.
Looks like the Aquafly Angels have a few more exciting prodigies working to get themselves ready to join Valentine (after Dubai) and we have no doubt that all three ladies will be inspiring to watch over the coming years.
Canadian Flyboard Record Set in Vernon
With 15 Flyboards in the air at one time, a Canadian record was set on Kalamalka Lake on Sept 24th. The new Zapata Racing Jetpack made an appearance as American Michael Helton took flight and joined Canadians Brody Wells, Andrew Salvador, Mike Prince, Rodney Biggar, Travis Young, Curtis Pangrass, Alfred Samson, Trayle Williams, Josh Koch, Jordan Fabro, Courtney Samson, Heather Young, James Macsween, Travis Blacklin, Nikita Jerrett, Adrian Boucher, Vern janvier, Anthony janvier, Myles Phinney, Patrick Flewin, Terrell CJ Longley and Kevin Polomsky.
Also I’m hoping Andrew Salvador will be sharing this record setting experience on H2RO very soon in much more detail.
Great to see Global News provide some mainstream press for the guys and we look forward to seeing the finished HD videos that are sure to be awesome. Click the image below to open the Global page in a new tab and check out their video coverage.

2016 North American Flyboard Championship
Rather than ask, which would be too simple, I combed Facebook looking for news and saw some confirmation that the original plan of having a Canada, USA, Mexico rotation for hosting the North American Flyboard Championship is still the idea. Flyboard Mexico are working on the location right now and new information is coming soon. They’ve got some great options down there, solid flyers and beautiful water so it’s just a matter of hopefully finding the sponsorship support and a location that will help with audience numbers. Do I look ready? I know Rodrigo will hook me up if I ever get down there!
DIGITAL LED SUITS
This news is a little dated but still worth mentioning as we’re seeing new digital technology finding its way into the LED light suits being worn by Flyboarders during the Official Flyboard Show. The suits look really great and we expect to see more exciting innovation in this area from other companies. The video below is from a recent Zapata Racing Show and near the end at the 2:11 mark you’ll see the light suits in action.
