ZAPATA RACING AIR FLYBOARD WITH NO HOSE
Franky Zapata has finally spoken publicly about his companies current project and the third installment of personal flying devices that he plans to unveil to the worldon April 9th, 2016. The Zapata Racing Air Flyboard with No Hose, is now referred to as the Flyboard Air.
A version of this device was something he showed H2RO on his cell phone in Toronto in June 2014 and now almost two year’s later it looks like the world is about to see a real life ‘Green Goblin’ soaring through the air untethered.
With new access to military technology, a stronger financial base and his unrelenting passion for human flight Franky Zapata is focused on his companies next BIG thing. In 2011 Zapata Racing launched the Flyboard, in 2014 we saw the arrival of the Hoverboard by ZR and it looks like in 2015 (though we wouldn’t be surprised if next week Franky flew over the dock in Dubai on his new ride) we’ll see the first completely stand alone personal underfoot flying machine.
What are we calling this device? Maybe we should each take a crack at naming it in the comments.
The description of the machine and the heights it can achieve are nothing short of comic book legend. In fact Franky was joking about just secretly bringing it to New York and then taking off into the air and flying around Times Square. Jason Duff from Cabo Flyboard and myself just looked at each other and said the same thing… that’s a great way to get shot down 🙂 Maybe a not so secret, let the proper authorities know kind of launch is the way to go.
With a parachute on your back, just in case, and the ability to fly who knows how many hundreds (thousands) of feet in the air we can only imagine the rules and regulations that are going to fly just as fast around the globe. Seeing that the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum has just secured the Flyboard World Cup for the next ten years and is a huge fan of Flyboarding maybe we’ll see this new flying machine find acceptance and public use there first. How to wash the windows of the tallest building in the world… solved.
