I get FLY with a little help from my friends
Hydroflight Photography – Art in the Air by NiagaraMike
Hydroflight Photography. A look through the lens at the Flyboard Niagara Fly In event.
Let me start by recognizing that Shawn Galiotto has already beat me to the punch with his well-written and nicely illustrated article named FLY IN with Flyboard Niagara. My contribution was delayed as I sorted over 1000 images into folders by performer and then began the never-ending editing process. Thanks Shawn and thank you Blaine Jeffery for agreeing to share a ‘Part II’ article focusing on my brand-new-to-the-sport-of-Hydroflight photographers POV. I have many more photos that I hope to post but have brought you the best of the best right here.
My introduction to Hydroflight has been nothing short of thrilling. Incredible athleticism coupled with this impressive technology creates unique imagery that is a sports photographers dream. I felt I needed the still images to give me time with these moments to fully appreciate body position, the hose art, water spray and inspiration of flight. Powerful combinations if you can capture them.
I will let the images do the talking and hope you enjoy them.
Check out Tyler Bagshaw who will be competing for the first time in the 2016 Flyboard World Championship in Naples, Florida on September 16 – 18. Big thank you to Craig and Rodney of Flyboard Niagara for hosting such an awesome event.
Alex Barreira of Flyboard Quebec and Future Toys enjoyed flying high with friends.
Team Canfly superstars Ashton Beukers and Aleks Skar put on a spectacular show… as they always do!
Wade Metz just chillin’ up in the clouds.
Freedom Flyer with David Rogers at the helm was awesome. So great to see the diversity of Hydroflight rides which I had never even heard of before the event.
Ladies love Hydroflight and MP was out reppin’
And we can’t forget to include the new X-Files poster art image.
Now I’d like to finish up with a couple of photos that I hope are worthy of entering into a photo contest… hint, hint H2RO Magazine 🙂 If you are enjoying the photos please don’t forget to share this article on your fav social channel.
It was an awesome event that has really turned me on to Hydroflight Photography and made me look forward to many more opportunities to capture the art in the air.
I get high with a little help from my friends. Gonna fly with a little help from my friends.
