The first event of the 5 city 2015 Moto Surf season will go down in Cancún Mexico on April 24, 25 and 26th. This high-adrenalin event will see Red Bull Air pilots, Moto GP champions, big wave legends and Hawaiian watermen battle ‘board-to-board’ at speeds in excess of 60km/hour. Trained Fighter Pilots, Rally Car Drivers and Surfers competing on high-powered motorized surfboards… insane….insanely rad!
President of the FIDSM, Philipp Wolf says, “Motorized surfboard racing demands supreme fitness, and a deep understanding of the board and motor to keep the JetSurf board’s powerful engines in check for 15 laps. Many riders compete to keep their racing skills honed when they’re not professionally racing planes, cars or motorcycles.”
So who will be ripping in Cancún later this month? The race will see Hawaiian waterman Kai Lenny, Brazil’s big wave rider Everaldo ‘Pato’ Teixeira and Moto GP and European Red Bull Air Race champions Jakub Kornfeil and Martin Sonka. Check these guys out in this video from the 2014 MotoSurf GP final in Brno.

WHAT IS MOTOSURFING?
MotoSurfing is the unique intersection between athlete, water and technology. Ultra light weight high tech motorized surfboards allow for any body of water to become a surfing destination. The Federation Internationale Du Surf Motorise (FIDSM) has brought the world the cheapest, safest and most advanced motorsport in the world. Athletes can easily travel the world with their boards to compete which is not something you can say for most motorized sports. The sport is attracting athletes beyond the surf community from many different disciplines such as World Rally Championship racers, F1 drivers, Red Bull Air Race pilots and others who have gravitated to the sport because it is safe yet competitive and provides them a new way to hone their racing skills.
The MotoSurf Grand Prix events involve athletes racing the JetSurf Raceboards. These boards push the limits of technology while remaining environmentally friendly.
The JetSurf Raceboards are propelled by an ultra light weight state of the art engine, built by MSR Engines. A JetSurf is one of the most advanced water vehicles on the market today, when comparing speed, range and consumption to its CO2 emissions.
JetSurf has partnered with MOTOREX, one of the world’s most advanced high tech oil manufacturers. All JetSurf Raceboards are using environmentally degradable Motorex Oil.
Furthermore in order to achieve a Zero Carbon Footprint JetSurf is planting one tree for every JetSurf sold. An average customer uses their JetSurf board approximately 120 hours per year and produces about 25kg of CO2. That is the same amount of CO2 one adult tree can absorb each year.
