Zapata FlyRide Self-Balancing Jetbike
Zapata fueled by the popularity of their Flyboard, has now added a Jetbike experience to their catalog of products. They had done the Jetpack and now the Zapata FlyRide is the first Hydroflight experience to combine self-balancing technology with a similar flight experience to the Jetovator. The Jetovator is a hand steered three jet bike made by Jetavation Inc. The Zapata FlyRide can seat two riders at one time up to a total weight of 200 kg (440 lbs).
The self-balancing tech within the FlyRide uses a set of internal sensors and computers to make the necessary adjustments to keep the bike upright regardless of what the rider is doing. The idea is that these ‘training wheels’ will make the Zapata FlyRide a more accessible Hydroflight experience to the public. This Jetbike has four selectable flight modes allowing for a fun flight for kids right up to advanced riders and also includes throttle assistance and an automated takeoff routine for those wanting more of a ride than flying it themselves.
The ‘big trick’ associated with the Zapata FlyRide is a barrel roll which can be performed with the push of a button once the rider has enough altitude. In advanced mode you can pull a double barrel roll before the Jetbike returns to vertical.
The Zapata FlyRide weighs only 33kg (72 lb) so transporting it should be fairly easy. This Jetbike kit is now on sale for $8,600 usd and watch for many rental operations adding this experience to their offerings around the world.
