WELCOME TO THE H2RO AWARDS!
H2RO Magazine is very excited to have the opportunity to cover the major Hydroflight events around the globe and it is our mission to maximize the exposure of the athletes who compete and inspire the world to fly. In these early days H2RO Magazine wanted to do something fun, so we launched our H2RO AWARDS in Toronto at the first ever Flyboard® North American Championship. One day we’ll give out $millions in prizes but for now a H2RO WEAR t-shirt, bragging rights and all the online love we can deliver will be up for grabs in the following FLYBOARD categories: (new categories will be added as competitions evolve)
2015 NORTH AMERICAN FLYBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP
The front twist, tornado dive combos, and just a totally unique look to many of his tricks, is why Rodrigo Delgado is our Elevate/Create winner for the 2015 North American Flyboard Championship. Rodrigo’s flying most certainly generated some ohhhhs and ahhhhhhs and we look forward to seeing him on the Pro Series in Dubai.
EMKILLER – Winner – HUNTER VERLANDER
Clean Triple Backflip and much more. Hunter ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Verlander threw down sick run after sick run in Shreveport. He led after the Qualifying Round and finished on the podium in third place. His tricks were dialed in and the fact that he’s apparently landed a 1080 triple and in practice landed 30+ triples means that Hunter will be gunning for the World Championship come December.
X DUBAI FLYBOARD WORLD CUP – DEC 2014
ELEVATE/CREATE – Winner – STEPHANE PRAYAS
This award goes to the Flyboard competitor who blew our minds with the most unique, creative and successfully executed trick or tricks. Stéphane nailed his Bonsai flip and also gave us the seat grab which he had done before in 2013 but we still love the creativity.
EMKILLER – Winner – SUKSAN TONGTHAI
This award is given to the Flyboard competitor who can do it ALL. A rider who has all the tricks dialed in and consistently shows off the entire repertoire each and every time out on the water. Suksan did that and more landing the first ever Triple in competition. He showed us the ‘missile’ similar to Ronnie Feise and Callon Burns and had an insane superman into backflip into dive combo that defied physics. Yes our back to back champion is truly EMKiller!

FLYBOARD NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP – JUNE 2014
ELEVATE/CREATE – Winner SCOTTY KNEMEYER
This award goes to the Flyboard competitor who blows our minds with the most unique, creative and successfully executed trick or tricks. This rider will have successfully pushed the boundaries of our sport. He/she does not necessarily have to be the winner of the event to win this award.
Scotty Knemeyer brought the ‘Scotty Flip’ to Toronto and it made quite an impression. A kick spin into side flip all in one smooth and fast motion. It creates quite the horseshoe shaped hose heading back to the ski so you have to fly out of it quickly. Just one of the new tricks Scotty has in his arsenal and we can’t wait to see those creations at the next World Cup. Congrats Scotty on being our very first Elevate/Create Award Winner!
EMKILLER – Winner DAMONE RIPPY
This award will be given to the Flyboard competitor who can do it ALL. A pilot who has all the tricks dialed in and consistently shows off the entire repertoire each and every time out on the water. You would think it would be our Champion who takes this award home but then again we might not agree with the judges.
Well… we did agree with the judges… at least with regards to our Champion. Damone Rippy consistently brought an amazing repertoire of tricks to each of his runs including the Eye of the Storm. This inhuman double backflip is so tight it creates two tiny hose loops that sit in the air side by side. This along with his backflip to dolphin dive combo which no one else was doing and other huge flip variations made our decision rather easy. Plus how can you not give out the first ever EMKiller Award to a pilot who pulls a gun and gives us the suicide flip.
Congrats Damone Rippy on being our very first EMKiller Award Winner!
We are excited to see how big our H2RO AWARDS can grow and we hope that this will be another great way to reward the hard work and dedication of our athletes. Wanna hook yourself up with the same swag as these Pros? Here you go…
